The Animated Series' Showrunner Is Aware of Your Second Season Predictions — With Some Positive Updates

The highly-awaited Season 2 of the musical adult cartoon Hazbin Hotel arrives on Prime Video this week, and fan speculation has been rampant.

Season 1 presents a large cast of characters residing in the afterlife, pits them against each other with musical numbers about their clashes, and builds tense rivalries and emotional bonds that drive audience devotion.

The fandom's stated hopes for season 2 vary widely, but certain themes recur frequently: Will a fan-favorite character escape his tormentor? Will we find out more about the mysterious "deal" constraining Alastor the Radio Demon? Might certain characters' relationships evolve?

"Obviously, I don't produce the show with audience demands as the main goal," the showrunner commented earlier this year. "But I believe that me being a devotee of the series implies there's a lot of it just naturally. I also am eager for these things, and I hope some of these things to occur, and obviously some of these things are meant to happen in the show!"

She reveals her long-term vision is for five seasons of Hazbin Hotel. Seasons 3 and 4 have received approval by the production companies, which produce the series.

That could imply viewers have to be patient for some of the major resolutions — but they may be surprised at how fast the new season progresses, and how much of what they're anticipating unfolds this season.

"I believe people are going to be highly satisfied," she adds. "There are several debut moments. I think we get some incredible disclosures, some fascinating backstories, and even just simple things, [like] I hope this character gets a song. […] We're going to hear additional musical numbers from the previously silent cast members."

She's certainly aware of the theories and desires about the upcoming season — particularly in the form of audience prediction charts.

"I've come across a couple people make a bingo card about season 2," she mentions. "Obviously I won't share it, but I've already completed some of them, and nearly every one of them have almost a bingo. I thought, Oh, if you put this [event] in this spot, it would be a bingo. So that leads me to believe we do a lot [of what fans are waiting for in this season], because I was like, Oh, there's multiple potential bingos on this card. So that brings me joy."

Hazbin Hotel season 2 launches on the streaming service on October 29.
